ASST VICE PRESIDENT
Dusty Brown has deep roots, both in East Texas and at CBTx, so it’s no surprise he prefers an old-school approach to banking. “To me Banking Texas Style means getting deals done as close to a hand-shake deal as you can do, like the good old days,” he said. “I am motivated to go the extra mile for a customer to show how loyal I am to them, and I hope they will be loyal to me and this bank.”
Brown has been with CBTx for more than 18 years, starting as a teller and working his way up to customer service rep, branch supervisor, credit analyst and, finally, loan officer with a focus on commercial lending.
Brown was born in Nacogdoches and grew up in Woden. He loves everything about his community. “I have lived here my entire life and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” he said.
Brown graduated from Woden High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in management from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is past president of the Nacogdoches Jaycees and is chair for the sales committee of the Nacogdoches County Fair Committee.
He and his wife, Kami, have two kids, Mallory and Cole, and four horses. The family spends a lot of time watching Mallory compete at high school rodeos. In his free time, Brown enjoys spending time with his family and hunting.
